Do I Need a Referral to See a Chiropractor?

• In most cases, no referral is required.

• Some insurance plans and VA Community Care may require a referral or prior authorization before treatment.

Do You Accept My Insurance?

• Arena Chiropractic participates with many insurance plans, including VA Community Care, Medicare, and many commercial insurance plans.

• Because every insurance policy is different, we recommend calling our office before your appointment so we can verify your benefits.

• We’ll be happy to explain your coverage and any expected out-of-pocket costs before your visit.

What If I Don’t Have Insurance?

• No problem.

• We offer affordable self-pay options and will work with you to make your care as affordable as possible.

How Much Does the First Visit Cost?

• The cost of your first visit depends on your condition, your insurance coverage, and whether X-rays are clinically necessary.

• Whenever possible, we’ll verify your insurance benefits before your appointment so you’ll know what to expect. 

• If you don’t have insurance, we offer affordable self-pay options.

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

• We accept most major credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash, and other approved payment methods.

Can I Be Seen the Same Day?

• Whenever possible, we offer same-day appointments for new and existing patients. Please call or text our office to check availability.

What Happens During My First Visit?

Your first appointment may include:

• New Patient Paperwork

• Consultation and health history review

• Chiropractic examination

• Orthopedic and neurological testing, when appropriate

• Digital X-rays, if clinically necessary

• Review of findings

• Discussion of your personalized treatment plan

• Treatment, when appropriate

Do I Need X-Rays?

• Not always.

• X-rays are only taken when clinically necessary based on your history and examination. Many patients do not require X-rays.

Will I Be Adjusted on My First Visit?

• Many patients receive treatment during their first appointment. 

• However, this depends on your condition, examination findings, and whether chiropractic treatment is appropriate and safe.

• Your X-rays will be professionally interpreted by a Doctor of Chiropractic who is Board Certified in Chiropractic Diagnostic Imaging (DACBR).

• To help ensure your care is as safe and effective as possible, it is generally best to wait for the radiology report before beginning therapeutic treatments, unless your doctor determines that immediate treatment is appropriate.

• If follow-up treatment is recommended, we’ll review your results with you and discuss the treatment options that best fit your needs.

Are Chiropractic Adjustments Safe?

• Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when performed by a licensed chiropractor. 

• Before recommending treatment, we’ll review your medical history, perform a thorough examination, and determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you.

Does an Adjustment Hurt?

• Most patients find chiropractic adjustments comfortable and experience little or no discomfort. 

• Some people notice mild soreness afterward, similar to beginning a new exercise program, which usually resolves within a day or two.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

• Every patient is different.

• The number of visits depends on your diagnosis, how long you’ve had the condition, your overall health, your goals, and how your body responds to treatment. 

• We’ll discuss our recommendations after your examination.

Can You Help After a Car Accident?

• Yes.

• We evaluate and treat many patients with injuries related to motor vehicle accidents

Do You Accept VA Community Care?

• Yes.

• Arena Chiropractic welcomes veterans who have been authorized through VA Community Care. If you need help understanding the referral process, our staff will gladly assist you.

Can Children Receive Chiropractic Care?

• Yes.

• Children may receive chiropractic care when appropriate. Treatment techniques are modified based on the child’s age, size, and condition.

Can Pregnant Women Receive Chiropractic Care?

• Yes.

• Many pregnant women seek chiropractic care for back pain, pelvic discomfort, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Treatment is modified to provide appropriate comfort and support throughout pregnancy.

What If I Need to Cancel My Appointment?

• If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment time to another patient.
